IBC SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2021
“Two by Two…Read More Than a Few”
This summer, we will be having another fun-filled reading club from Sunday, June 13th to Sunday, August 8th (8 weeks). To promote library usage the books read need to be from the public library or from our church library.
We ask that parents sign up their children based on their child’s reading ability. The library staff will be glad to help in this. Sign-up begins on Wednesday, June 9th or on Sundays outside the library (or on Wednesdays after Family Worship) before you head over to the library.
Non-Readers will receive a sheet of blank books to color as they are read to by willing parents, siblings or from story time at the library. For every 5 books finished, they will get to choose a small prize and get their name on an animal.
Beginning Readers (10 minutes per day minimum) Read 5 out of 7 days weekly (or a total of 50 minutes – 1 hr) log it, choose a prize and get their name on an animal.
Intermediate Readers (30 minutes per day minimum) Read 5 out of 7 days weekly (or a total of 2-3 hours per week), log it, choose a prize and get their name on an animal.
Advanced Readers (60 minutes per day minimum) Read 5 out of 7 days weekly (or a total of 5 hours per week), log it, choose a prize and get their name on an animal.
Adults and teens are encouraged to sign up as well! Choose your own goal: how many books do I want to read this summer? Go for it! Teens can check out books from the Annex library or the Main library with a library card.
NOTE TO PARENTS: Just as we need a balanced diet in the different food groups, we would ask you to help your child to experience more than just one category of books. Variety is much more fun!
We are EXCITED and hope to see you there!

One of the best kept secrets at Immanuel Baptist Church is its library. When you come inside, you will find friendly desk people, a play/drawing area for your little ones, comfortable chairs for adults, junior and children’s books, biographies, books to help in your Bible study, board books for your little ones, DVDs for adults and children, books on parenting, marriage, apologetics, history, and much more. We want you to come see us 🙂 – so here are the directions:
Our library is located in the Mizpah wing through the swinging door. From the sanctuary at the back of the church (Thompson St. side), turn to the right, go past the courtyard, and go in the next set of black double doors. Going through the double doors near the piano or organ, and down the back hallway towards the Welcome Center proceed to the little hallway housing the primary department. Go out the double glass doors to the main sidewalk, turn right past our large picture window, and enter through the black double doors.
In case those are locked, a doorbell is there for your convenience.
