YoHoYoHo We are Saved by Grace

Gloria DuffeyChildren's Ministry

Ahoy, matey! This week our crew sailed the seas on a ship. A Pirate ship. They went in search of Amazing Treasure that was ever known to man. However, there were four pirate captains also looking for the Amazing Treasure. Captain NoFear, who is the bravest, strongest, and toughest pirate in all the land. Captain Know-It-All, who is the smartest captain in all the land. Captain NoGerms, who is the cleanest and healthiest captain in all the land. Captain NoWork, who does not like to work. They all looked for the map that would show them the location of the Amazing Treasure. Only to find that the Map they were seeking did not lead to the Amazing Treasure.  Instead another Map that is much stronger and germ free would tell them about the Amazing Treasure and how to get it. That Map is the Bible. The Bible showed them that they could not earn the Amazing Treasure but that it is a gift from God through His Amazing Grace. Through Bible Stories, Songs, Verses, and Crafts our crew also learned that the most Amazing Treasure known to man is a free gift given by God through His Amazing Grace.

Our crew brought items each day for Church Hill Activities & Tutoring (CHAT).  Jonathan Chan, Chief Development Officer of CHAT, attended the last day of our sailing adventure and shared how these items will assist children in Church Hill. Finally, our pirate ship pulled in to dock at the Fellowship Hall port and our sailing adventure came to an end where we enjoyed a picnic for our crew and their parents. What a fabulous trip we had this past week as we discovered the most Amazing Treasure known to man. Thank you to all the teachers, helpers, and parents for making this such a successful week!
