Family worship is a wonderful opportunity to honor and glorify our God with our individual family units as well as corporately as a church family. It is an act of obedience to God as laid out in Scripture (Deut 6:4-9; 1 Cor 12:12-27; Heb 10:24-25) and a practical means for parents to model and instruct their children according to God’s word (Prov 1:8; Prov 22:6; Eph 6:4). It implements discipling within the home as well as promotes an intergenerational environment for discipling within the local church. As you can see, there are countless immediate and future benefits of practicing and participating in family worship.
Family worship involves focusing on glorifying God through reading, praying, and singing his word. This is exactly what we will be doing. We will be reading and memorizing God’s word, praying in both large and small groups, and singing a variety of songs together. There will also be a time for snacks and fellowship afterward.
We encourage all to come and join us for family worship this summer. It will be a less formal and more intimate environment that facilitates connecting with one another. This is a great opportunity to invite your family and friends. Our intergenerational family worship service also serves to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples through personal and corporate evangelism.
Family worship begins on Wednesday, June 6th at 6:00 PM. We will be meeting in the fellowship hall. Join us on Wednesday nights from June through the end of August, with the exception of July 4th. We look forward to spending this special time together as a church family worshipping our great God.
